Ground Surface Hardener (Pure Corundum)

Technical Products
schlagen zemin yüzey sertleştirici (saf korund)

It is a cement-based, corundum aggregate surface hardener applied to fresh concrete and screed surfaces that protects floors against impacts and abrasions.

Areas of Use

  • In applications with medium and heavy traffic, shipyards,
  • Indoor and outdoor areas; warehouses, garages and parking areas,
  • It is applied to fresh concrete surfaces where mechanical abrasion resistance is required and dust-free, such as industrial building floors, repair shops and workshops.

Product Features

  • The resistance of the applied surface against impacts and abrasion increases 4-6 times compared to normal concrete.
  • It has high impermeability.
  • Prevents concrete from dusting.
  • Easily applied to carrier concrete.
  • There are three different color options.
  • Contains corundum aggregate with special granulometric grain size.

Surface Preparation

Concrete pouring: After the slabs are prepared, the concrete is poured. The concrete is compacted with a vibrating screed. A final correction can be made with a wooden trowel. The carrier concrete of the area where the Ground Surface Hardener (Pure Corundum) will be applied must be at least C25 or 350 dose class.

To mix up

Curing: After the application of the material is completed, products containing curing material should be applied to the surface in order to prevent rapid evaporation of hydration water, shrinkage cracks and to ensure dust-proofness. Expansion joints should be created by cutting at least 4 mm wide after maximum 24 hours of concrete casting. Mastic should be applied to the joints to prevent negative situations such as breakage and dusting.

Application

The concrete surface to be applied should not be too wet or too dry. If the concrete is too dry, the surface hardener will not combine with the concrete and will be lifted from the ground in crusts. If the application is done when the concrete is too wet, the surface hardener will separate and the necessary strength and durability will not be provided on the surface. Application is started if a footprint of 0.5-1.5 cm deep remains when you step on the concrete. The ground should be wet enough to absorb the moisture needed by the surface hardener. In the application area; Ground Surface Hardener (Pure Corundum) bags are placed around the panels according to the consumption amount. It is thrown homogeneously on the surface with a hand or mechanical spreading machine. It is expected that the sprinkled material will change color by absorbing the water of the concrete. The material that is sprinkled homogeneously and changes color by absorbing water is compressed with a tray finisher and its integration with the concrete is ensured. In applications over 5kg/m2, first 2/3 of the material is sprinkled. After the disk process, the remaining 1/3 amount of material is sprinkled. The finishing process is carried out again with a disk. After the rough finishing process; Final polishing should be done with fine blade adjustments until the desired shine is achieved. Water should not be sprinkled on the surface during application.

Points to Consider

  • Ground surface hardeners should be applied by expert applicators.
  • Application should be done between +5°C – +35°C.
  • It should not be applied on surfaces that are frozen, melting or in danger of freezing within 24 hours.
