Bitumenelastic 2K

Water Insulation
schlagen bitümelastik 2k

It is a cement and polymer modified, highly elastic, solvent-free, bitumen rubber based elastic waterproofing material.

Areas of Use

  • In foundations and curtain walls of all structures.
  • Insulation of leakage water in floors such as bathrooms, kitchens and toilets.
  • In balconies and terraces.
  • In protection of concrete against water coming from the ground and microorganisms.
  • Under cement-based screeds.
  • In ceilings of underground parking lots.
  • Against ground moisture in garden terraces.
  • Insulation of flower beds, bonding of light heat insulation boards.
  • Used in retaining walls and sedimentation tanks.

Product Features

  • Easy to prepare and apply.
  • It has the ability to bridge shrinkage cracks.
  • Can be applied to dry and slightly damp surfaces.
  • It has a long working period.
  • It does not contain solvent, so it is environmentally friendly.
  • Can be applied on vertical and horizontal surfaces.
  • Resistant to diluted acid, alkali, chloride and sulfate ions.
  • It is not affected by microorganisms and aggressive groundwater.

Surface Preparation

The application surface should be solid, load-bearing, dust-free and clean. Any oil, grease, rust, paint, cure and paraffin residue that may weaken the adhesion should be thoroughly cleaned. Sections with active water leakage should be filled with Waterbond product. Corners and edges should be chamfered with the product. The application surface should be primed.

To mix up

Bitumelastic 2K Component B (liquid) is mixed in its own bucket. Component A (powder) is slowly added to the component B bucket. It is mixed with a low speed mixer for approximately 3-5 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. After the mixture is rested for 5 minutes, it is mixed again for about 30 seconds and is ready for application.

Mixing Ratio: Component A: 8 kg – Component B: 22 kg

Application

Primer preparation: Separate 1 kg from the prepared A and B component mixture and add approximately 3 kg of water. Mix in a low speed mixer for 3-4 minutes until a homogeneous appearance is achieved. This resulting material is applied as a primer coat. Primer application should be done by spreading it homogeneously on the surface with a brush. After the primer coat dries; Bitumelastik 2K A and B component mixture should be applied in 2 layers with a brush. The second coat should be applied when the application is dry enough not to damage the first coat. In areas exposed to temporary and continuous water pressure, after the 1st coat of Bitumelastik 2K, alkali-resistant glass fiber reinforcement mesh should be placed on the entire surface and the 2nd coat of Bitumelastik 2K should be applied in a way that completely covers the mesh.

Points to Consider

  • It is not applied to frozen, melting or frost-prone surfaces.
  • The applied surface should be protected against rain, frost and excessive wind for 3 days.
  • The ground and ambient temperature where the application will be made should be between +5 °C and +30 °C. If the temperature conditions do not comply with the permitted values, appropriate temperature values should be waited for the application.
  • No foreign materials should be added at all.
  • Uncured surfaces should not be exposed to water.
  • The coating should be applied to the surfaces of the structure or structural elements that are in contact with water.
  • It is not a UV-resistant material. Therefore, it should be covered with a suitable material after the drying process.
  • The prepared mixture should be consumed within 90 minutes.

Packaging

In a 30 kg bucket, component A: 8 kg (powder) – component B: 22 kg (liquid)

Storage

It should be stored in its unopened original packaging at a temperature between + 5 ° C and + 30 ° C. The product should be protected from direct sunlight.
