Bitumen-elastic 1K

Water Insulation
schlagen bitümelastik 1k

Bitumen Elastic 1K is a single-component, solvent-free, elastic, bitumen-based waterproofing material.

Areas of Use

  • As a waterproofing material in the foundations and basement walls of buildings.
  • For positive waterproofing against rain and groundwater.
  • On the surfaces of retaining walls in contact with soil.
  • Used as a primer under bituminous coatings.

Product Features

  • Ready for application.
  • Elastic properties.
  • Applied with a brush.
  • Solvent-free.
  • Resistant to chemicals in the soil.

Surface Preparation

The substrate to be treated must be free of dust, grease and loose particles that could reduce adhesion. Any surface imperfections must be repaired. Edges and corners must be chamfered. Prior to application, the surface must be moistened with clean water and left until the water film has evaporated. Necessary precautions must be taken in case of adverse weather conditions.

Application

Priming: Bitumen-elastic 1K is diluted with water at a ratio of 1:1 by weight and applied to the surface as a primer. The primer is applied to the concrete surface with a brush to ensure even distribution. The primer is left to dry before applying the first coat. Application with a brush: The material is spread over the surface with a brush at a rate of 0.090 kg/m².

Points to Consider

  • If the surface and ambient temperature where Bitumen Elastic 1K is to be applied is below +5 °C or above +30 °C, suitable temperatures for application should be awaited.
  • Surfaces where Bitumen Elastic 1K has been applied should be protected from sun, snow, hail and rain for the first 24 hours.
  • It should not be applied to frozen, thawing, or frost-prone surfaces.
  • The concrete surface to be treated must be 28 days old.
  • It should be applied to surfaces of the structure or structural elements that come into contact with water.
