It is a single component, cement-based, flexible joint filler material that provides a smooth surface and contains chemical additives that increase workability, crack resistance, water impermeability and color permanence.

Surface Preparation

Before grouting, dust, sawdust, construction cement residues that may be present in the joint gaps should be cleaned without damaging the ceramic. Especially on walls, the joint gaps should be moistened before application. The adhesive should be cured before grouting.

To mix up

The appropriate amount of water is poured into a clean mixing container with the help of a scale. Silicone Flex Joint Filler Mortar is slowly added and mixed with a low-speed mixer for 3-5 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. After resting for 5-10 minutes and mixing again for 20-30 seconds, the material is ready for use.

Mixing Ratio: For 20 kg of powder: 6.5-7.5 liters of water, for 1 kg of powder: 0.325-0.375 liters of water

Application

The grouting mortar that has reached a consistency ready for application is spread on the surface and filled with cross movements to fill the joint gaps thoroughly. The excess on the surface should be scraped off with a damp sponge or a soft-tipped spatula. When the surface of the Silicone Flex Grouting Mortar filled into the joint gaps dries, the surface should be cleaned with a damp sponge using circular movements. The expected time for this process is usually 15-30 minutes. This period is shortened when a highly absorbent coating material is used or in applications in hot and windy environments. If the wiping process is done prematurely or with a very wet sponge, problems such as fluctuations in the color of the Silicone Flex Grouting Mortar may be encountered. Attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the sponge used in the wiping process.

Points to Consider

  • If the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +35°C, suitable temperatures should be waited. Application should not be done in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather.
  • The joint width where Silicone Flex Grouting Mortar will be applied should not exceed 6 mm. Ceramics with high water absorption should be saturated with water before application.
  • Water and new material should never be added to the mixture that has started to dry.
  • Before applying the grouting product, the adhesive product must have completed its curing.
